Let’s all keep telling them how good they are–how smart & inspiring & beautiful & creative & funny–until we know that they know. They deserve to know it the way they know their eye color, their names. Their goodness, their worthiness, should be as familiar to them as their own voices. So let’s keep showing them, telling them, talking about them–until there is no doubt. Let’s shout, out loud, every chance we get–let’s say it with a hand on their shoulders, an encouraging word spoken, a Yes!, a high-five–whatever it takes to get the message through. I think it’s our responsibility; all of our responsibility; no, make that our privilege.
